We are quickly acting if lives are to be saved. We are carrying out disaster response programs country-wide with a focus on communities that are not getting quick help from other stakeholders due to various factors affecting particular communities by mobilizing people and resources quickly, to ensure the immediate and long-term needs of the affected families through different projects, increase people’s knowledge of disaster prevention and reduce the harm that disasters can cause. Daeyeg Foundation works with communities, especially women, youth and children of the Datoga society to identify disaster risks and strengthen their resilience. We ensure that Datoga pastoral communities and other communities with similar challenges have significant voices in disaster response decisions. We also work with various partners to prevent disasters and reduce the level of impact in the future. Daeyeg Foundation has participated in saving lives in various disasters that have occurred, to mention a few, Mount Hanang’s mudslides, COVID-19 outbreak, hunger disaster due to long droughts and floods, and fire outbreaks in different parts of the country. The main focus is to severely affected segment of the communities, like children, women, elderly people and people with disabilities.
